Invited by School of Business Administration and the Research Center for Innovation and Strategic Human Resource Management (ISHRM), Dean Tjosvold，Academic Dean of Faculty of Business, Lingnan University, Hong Kong, Henry Y. W. Fong Chair Professor of Management, paid an official visit to JUFE from May6 to 8, 2014.
Prof. Dean Tjosvold delivered an academic lecture and had a discussion on the establishment of the International Innovation Team led by him with related personnel. Prof. Jingfa Jiang, the vice chancellor of JUFE, met and welcomed Dean. Prof. YuchenHu, the Dean of School of Business Administration, had a talk with Dean on the terms of introducing him into JUFE. Both parties have reached a preliminary consensus and expressed willingness to establish a long-term cooperation relationship.
On the afternoon of May 7, Dean delivered a lecture entitled“Making Conflict Constructive: Can Chinese Values Contribute?”at the lecture hall of the graduate building to the School staff , graduate students, as well as some undergraduate students. Dean started the lecture by introducing the concepts of conflict and constructive conflict. Then, he showed steps on how to effectively manage constructive conflicts through open-minded discussion.Finally, conclusions were drawn that Chinese people have important values that they can apply to help them manage conflict cooperatively and constructively. At the end of the lecture, Dean answered the questions raised by the teachers and students.
