At June 14, 2020, the "International Online Seminar on high quality case study and case teaching" jointly sponsored by the North American Case Study Association, the international case study association and the China Management Case Sharing Center was held successfully. The number of participants reached more than 3000, and the "cloud" terminal effectively connected teachers and students of nearly 100 universities at home and abroad.The seminar was presided over by Professor Wei Xiaojun, President of the International Association for case studies (ICRA) and vice president of the Business School of Macquarie University in Alberta, Canada.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Su Jingqin, director of China Management Case Sharing Center, delivered a speech. He briefly introduced the development status of case study and case teaching in China, and said that cases will play an increasingly important role in daily research and teaching.
After the speech, Brock University, Canada Goodman School Eric Dolansky associate professor, associate professor at the university of San Francisco, Michael Goldman, associate professor, institute of Dalian University of Technology and Economic management hai-fen Lin, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics institute of Business Administration professor hai-bo hu, Canada Athabasca University Business School Zengxiang (Eric) Wang, an associate professor and Shanghai Jiaotong University antai college of economics and management professor Brian chan, a total of six experts case has presented a series report.Among them, Professor Hu Haibo, President of our college, based on his experience of being awarded national top 100 cases for many times to being selected into international Harvard and Ivey Publishing library, said that from top 100 to Ivey is not only an obstacle to language conversion, but also the key is to grasp the theme preference, writing requirements and submission process of Yiwei case.He also compared the differences in different dimensions between China's top 100 cases and those of Harvard and Yiwei, pointing out the core issues that should be paid attention to in the process of writing Harvard and Ivey Pubilishing.
In the seminar, Professor Wei Xiaojun explained in detail the differences between teaching cases and research cases, pointing out that research cases focus on the construction of theoretical and empirical research, while teaching cases mainly serve teaching. In addition, research cases are more difficult to publish than teaching cases.Later, Professor Wei Xiaojun made a targeted explanation on the questions raised by the participants, and they all said that they had gained a lot.
This high-quality case study and case teaching seminar will help to promote the innovation and development of domestic case teaching and research, enhance the deep friendship between North America and Chinese scholars, convey the voice of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics's insistence on international school running, and finally provide a high-level exchange platform for international case study.
