Invited by the Research Center of Innovation and Strategic Human Resource Management (ISHRM) of JUFE, Prof.Shi Kan, famous psychologist in China as well as Prof. and doctoral supervisor of Renmin University of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a lecture entitled "Resilience in response to unconventional emergencies and an integrated approach" in Room 516 of Yinfu Building on North Mai Lu Campus on the morning of May 15th, 2015. Some faculty members as well as master and PhD students attended the lecture. Associate Prof. Wang Xinyan, Deputy Director of ISHRM, chaired the lecture.
Professor Shi introduced the background and definition of unconventional emergencies as well as the factors that affect it before the introduction to the theme of his speech--Resilience. Then he gave a deep and detailed instruction of the research process by four experiments—the validation of individual resilience factors, the exploration of team resilience factors, the exploration of the mechanisms of resilience and a research of resilience in a coal industry. At last, Professor Shi ended his lecture by introducing the research prospects of resilience to unconventional emergencies. After that, Professor Shi answered the various questions raised by teachers and students with patience.
Professor Shi’s lecture gave the audience a deeper understanding to the resilience in response to unconventional emergencies. Professor Jie Yang, Director of ISHRM, gave a summary to the speech. And he provided a suggestion that researchers should choose their research topics with more consideration of "humanistic concern" and "social care" with a "global thinking".
