 On the afternoon of March 27th, the Innovation and Strategic Human Resource Management Research Center held the academic meeting of the 2018-2019 school year in the conference room 713 of the Industrial and Commercial Building of Jiangxi University of  Finance and Economics. The master student Hao Hu communicated at the center on the literature Best Practices for Missing Data Management in Counseling Psychology. The members of the center attended the meeting, which was chaired by Professor Jie Yang, the director of the center.


Hao Hu first introduced the importance of missing data management, that is, if the reader does not understand the amount and pattern of missing data, the article's research results cannot be accurately understood. Then, Hao Hu explained the three types of data loss,namely, missing completely at random (MCAR), missing at random (MAR) and not missing at random (NMAR). Then, Hu Hao introduced three methods of processing data missing, namely, mean substitution, multiple imputation, and fullinformation maximum likelihood. Finally, Hao Hu recommended the commonly used software for processing missing data such as SPSS, SAS and Mplus, and briefly introduced the missing data filling method for each software.


After the presentation,Professor Jie Yang summarized the sharing of Hu Hao, encouraged everyone tolearn and master different software to deal with and report missing data, and establish a rigorous academic attitude. Professor Xinyan Wang also added that it is necessary to carefully check to avoid omissions when collecting questionnaires. This academic meeting was a complete success.
