HarvardCase Study+3!Thenumber of cases from SBAincluded in the Harvard Case Library has achieved another remarkablemilestone

Recently,two English teaching cases written by Professor Hu Haibo's team,"Huawei: Overcoming Country of Origin Challenges in GlobalExpansion," "Ant Group IPO Halted at the Eleventh Hour,"and one English teaching case written by Associate Professor HuJingbo's team, "Zhengbang Group: Building Sustainable Businessin Disruptive Times," have been officially included in theHarvard Business School Publishing Teaching Resource Platform (alsoknown as the "Harvard Case Library"). This breakthrough notonly reflects the academic strength of our faculty team, but alsomarks a further internationalization of our case development work.

The threeselected English teaching cases each have their own characteristics.The book "Huawei: Overcoming Country of Origin Challenges inGlobal Expansion" written by Professor Hu Haibo's team is theonly case study in recent years that comprehensively analyzes theinternationalization risks and challenges of Huawei Technologies Co.,Ltd. based on the Meng Wanzhou incident. Against the backdrop ofHuawei's country of origin bias and legitimacy challenges in theEuropean and American markets, it analyzes the strategic adjustmentsmade by Huawei since 2018 to break free from the dual shackles ofsource country and foreign disadvantage, providing solid case supportfor multinational enterprises in global compliance development andChinese enterprise internationalization theory innovation. Anothercase study written by Professor Hu Haibo's team, "Ant Group IPOHalted at the Eleventh Hour," focuses on the emergencysuspension of Ant Group's IPO, studying the timing, location,influencing factors, and regulatory authorities' decision to suspendits initial public offering, revealing the key challenges faced byfintech companies in capital market operations. Zhengbang Group:Building Sustainable Business in Disruptive Times, a case written byassociate professor Hu Jingbo's team, focuses on Zhengbang Group'sstrategic transformation under multiple pressures such as Africanswine fever, the COVID-19 and the tightening of environmentalprotection regulations. By analyzing its business model innovationand resilience management mechanism, it provides an importantreference for enterprises to achieve sustainable development in aturbulent environment.

HarvardBusiness School is the pioneer of case-based teaching, and theHarvard Case Library is the world's largest management case resourcecenter. As the most internationally renowned business case library,the Harvard Case Library represents the highest internationalstandards for teaching cases. Since the first direct inclusion ofProfessor Hu Haibo's team case "LIDU Liquor: A Time HonoredBaijiu Distiller's Digitalization" in the Harvard Case Libraryin 2023, three more cases have been directly included in thedatabase.

Asof now, our school has accumulated 18 English teaching cases thathave been included in two top international case databases, Harvardand IVEY.Among them, Professor Hu Haibo's team has published a total of 9Harvard and IVEYcases for seven consecutive years, ranking among the first group ofinternational case publications by Chinese scholars. The teamactively rooted itself in local practice, deeply explored themanagement wisdom of Chinese enterprises, and constructed aninnovative path for the international dissemination of localmanagement knowledge.

Inthe future, the School of Business Administration will continue toroot itself in local practice, promote the development of managementcases with Chinese characteristics, promote Chinese managementexperience and methods to the world, actively tell the story of Chinaon the international case stage, and makethe voice of SBA,JUFE.
