Center adjunct researcher Ph.D Hannes Zacher,Professor of Innovation and Human Resource Management in the School of Management at Queensland University of Technology,has accepted a new position as chair and full professor of work and organizational psychology at the University of Leipzig, Germany, starting in October 2016. Hereby Congratulate!
Leipzig University (German: Universität Leipzig), located in Leipzig in the Free State of Saxony, Germany, which was founded in 1409, is one of the oldest universities in the world and the second-oldest university (by consecutive years of existence) in Germany. Famous alumni include Leibniz, Goethe, Ranke, Nietzsche, Wagner, Angela Merkel, Raila Odinga, Tycho Brahe, and nine Nobel laureates are associated with this university. In 1879, Wundt founded the first formal laboratory for psychological research at the University of Leipzig. This marked psychology as an independent field of study.
The vision of the department of work and organizational psychology is to be a leader in research on aging at work, active work behavior, and occupational health and well-being. The department conducts basic and applied research on at the individual, team, and organizational levels to generate new and useful knowledge and to support evidence-based practice.
