On the morning of April 22, the deputy dean of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Distinguished Professor of Huazhong Scholars, and the second-level professor Lirong Long were invited by the Innovation and Strategic Human Resource Management Research Center of ourinstitute to make a title entitled “Ground or Site, Fund Reporting”. The academic lectures is also the theme of the series of academic activities of the 40th anniversary of the founding of our college. Our teaching and research personnel and graduate students participated in the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Professor Jie Yang, Director of the Center for Innovation and Strategic Human Resource Management。

Professor Lirong Long first shared his research experience and proposed that research is a process of “targeting” to “focusing”. Taking interest as a guide and solving his own confusion is the main purpose of research. Subsequently, Professor Lirong Long profoundly analyzed the latest news of the application of the National Self-finance Fund, and combined with his own experience in reporting funds, he introduced in detail the criteria for selecting topics, the experience of selecting topics, and the application and writing of cheats. Professor Lirong Long emphasized that when applying for the National Self-finance Fund, it is necessary to understand the research trend,choose the anti-conventional, change perspective and interdisciplinary topics, and emphasize both method norm and innovation. On the basis of phenomena and problems,improve to theoretical research. At the level, by studying a large number of documents to find the theoretical basis, portray their own characteristics. Finally, Professor Lirong Long introduced the writing skills of the application form with examples, topics, abstracts, literature review, research design and research basis.

In the conclusion stage, Professor Jie Yang was deeply touched. He mentioned that Professor Long used the easy-to-understand method, the vivid language, and analysis of the key points to share the mental journey of doing research, which made people feel like they are full of enthusiasm. Prof. Long's wonderful sharing can be summarized in several words: taking nutrition from culture, finding motivation from reality, and finding a good opportunity from peers!
