The 29th NIBS Global Case Competition Finals opened in JUFE


On the afternoon of March 16th, the 29th NIBS Global Case Competition Finals, co hosted by the Network of International Business School (NIBS) and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), organized by the School of Business Administration, and supported by Lidu Liquor Industry, opened at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Nanchang. More than 80 teachers, students, and foreign guests from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, Romania, South Korea, Brazil, and Thailand attended the competition.

Deng Hui expressed his gratitude for the trust in NIBS in his speech and paid tribute to the Chairman, Dr. Hans. Deng Hui briefly introduced the basic situation of the school, pointing out that in the face of the wave of digital economy in the new era, the school has comprehensively launched "three entrepreneurship", seized the opportunities of "three modernizations", accelerated "three transformations", and deeply promoted the construction of "three major transformations". At the same time, around serving major needs, leading characteristic development, and innovating institutional mechanisms, the school actively plans international cooperation and exchange work, and is accelerating the construction of an excellent university with global aspirations. Deng Hui emphasized that NIBS is committed to promoting communication and exchange among students from its member universities, broadening their international perspectives, cultivating their awareness of international competitiveness, and having a broad and profound influence internationally. This competition is not only an important symbol of international recognition for the school's case development and teaching work, but also an important window for case researchers and learners from around the world to understand the management case work of Chinese enterprises. At the end of his speech, Deng Hui introduced the origin of the title of "Hero City" in Nanchang and its profound historical and cultural heritage. He wished the contestants from all over the world to achieve ideal results and leave beautiful memories in JUFE, Nanchang, and China.

Hans VAN OUDHEUSDEN pointed out in his speech that the NIBS Case Competition was held for the first time in China, which is a moment when a dream that has spanned ten years has finally come true. The core concept of NIBS is global connectivity, allowing students and educators from around the world to establish connections. Holding this competition in China is an important step in the globalization of NIBS. This competition invited 8 international referees and several Chinese referees to ensure the fairness and professionalism of the event. Hans hopes that all participating students will bravely embrace the upcoming challenges and cherish this valuable opportunity to broaden their horizons, make friends, and deepen cultural exchanges, making this experience an unforgettable memory.

Hu Xue reviewed the close cooperation with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and the School of Business Administration in her speech, and expressed her honor in supporting the final of the NIBS Global Case Competition. Hu Xue pointed out that Lidu Liquor Industry has teamed up with schools and schools to explore the operational models and characteristics of enterprises, and developed a series of highly valuable business cases. As a "national treasure level" liquor company, Lidu has a profound cultural heritage and a unique successful business model. I hope to further accumulate and develop my own advantages through this competition, while also contributing to the cultivation of business talents with a global perspective and innovative capabilities.

Accompanied by exciting music, the attending leaders and guests took the stage together to witness the launch ceremony of this competition, witnessed by all coaches, contestants, and volunteers. The applause was thunderous and the atmosphere was high.

In the subsequent cultural performance segment, students showcased their skills that are highly characteristic of traditional Chinese culture: an elegant and refined piece of "Blue and White Porcelain", a melodious pipa performance, a light and agile blend of ancient and ethnic dances, and a Hanfu fashion show that recreated the charm of ancient times, adding a touch of brilliance to the opening of the competition.

Hans introduced the rules of the competition and presided over the drawing ceremony. After drawing lots, the 16 participating teams were divided into 4 groups. They will showcase their wisdom and courage in the upcoming matches to advance to the semi-finals and finals.

In order to strengthen understanding and enhance friendship among participating teams, the organizers also arranged an "ice breaking" activity after drawing lots, searching for friends with similar characteristics and collecting 5 photos. The contestants actively participated in the interaction and quickly brought each other closer in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
NIBS was founded in 1993 and is an educational cooperation platform composed of over 70 high-level business universities from more than 30 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and China. The NIBS Global Case Competition is held annually, and this competition is the 29th edition of the competition. It is also the first time that the competition has come to Asian universities and is hosted by Chinese universities. As the host of this competition, the School of Business Administration at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics officially joined NIBS in July 2013 and has reached the finals of the Global Case Competition eight times, with the best result being the top eight globally. A total of 16 participating teams from around the world have emerged from the preliminaries to advance to the finals of this competition. They will compete in the group stage, semi-finals, and finals over the next 5 days to ultimately produce the global champion.
